Meet the company of Stupid Fucking Bird:

Wayne AsburyWayne Asbury (Doyle Trigorin) was seen last on stage with tKAPOW in Macbeth. He has also appeared as Quinn in Penelope and as Bradley in Buried Child. Past credits include: Brick, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof; Henry, Mud; Slim, Cowboy Mouth; Provost, Measure for Measure; Martin, The Goat or Who is Sylvia? and Claudius, Hamlet.



Deirdre Hickok BridgeDeirdre Hickok Bridge (Emma Arkadina) is humbled to be among this phenomenal cast. Originally from New Bedford, Mass, she has performed with  numerous community and regional theatre companies over the past 30 years. Some of her favorite past roles include Marie in Sputnik: A Love Story (NTG), Carla in Nine (MAC), Lee in The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife (CPC) and the ensemble piece Love, Loss and What I Wore (Players’ Ring). She also has a penchant for doing new work and has appeared in a half-dozen new plays by New England playwrights over the last two years. When not performing, Deirdre is stage mother, band mother and head chef for her family in Derry.

Carey CahoonCarey Cahoon (Mosh) was last seen with tKAPOW in Raining Aluminum and as the Pilot in Grounded. She appeared last year in Macbeth, for which she won the 2014 NH Theatre Award for Best Actress. Other favorite roles include Sarah Goodwin in Time Stands Still, Cassandra in Agamemnon, Julie in Miss Julie, Hedda Tesman in Hedda Gabler, and Jessie in ‘night, Mother. Carey has also performed and directed with Boston Playwright’s Platform, Stage One Productions, the Palace Theatre, and the Anselmian Abbey Players. She holds a BA in Classics from St. Anselm College, and trained at the Atlantic Acting School, Shakespeare and Company., and with SITI Company.


Peter JosephsonPeter Josephson (Eugene Sorn) was last seen with theatre KAPOW in Raining Aluminum and as Jake Quinn in Stones in His Pockets. He has performed with the New Hampshire Theatre Project, the Winnipesaukee Playhouse, and Seven Stages Shakespeare, and has appeared in numerous productions with tKAPOW, including Hedda Gabler, Agamemnon, A Dream Play, Macbeth, and Zoo Story. Peter is a Seacoast Spotlight Award nominee and a nine-time New Hampshire Theatre Award nominee, and won that award for his performance in theatre KAPOW’s production of Penelope. He trains with the Michael Chekhov Association and theatre KAPOW.

Emily KarelEmily Karel (Nina) holds a BA in Theatre from Wheaton College, MA. She has studied acting for theatre, TV, and film in New York and Los Angles, and is a graduate of Shakespeare and Company’s Winter Intensive and Conservatory programs. Emily also teaches youth theatre with The New Hampshire Theatre Project in Portsmouth, and will be producing her very first project with her production company, Glass Dove Productions, in the fall of 2017. Favorite rolls include Jean in Dead Man’s Cell Phone, Abigail in The Crucible, Rose in The Flick, Carol in Oleanna, and Juliet in Romeo and Juliet.


Mark MarshallMark Marshall (Dev) is a writer and filmmaker with Wax Idiotical Fims, and winner of numerous awards in 48 Hour Film Projects throughout the region. Mark is really excited to be back on stage with tKapow after appearing in the annual Burial at Thebes performance as well as Dream Play and Uma Vida Imaginaria. He would like to thank tKAPOW for always being supportive and thinking of him for this role as a chubby, poor, bald guy who's unlucky in love... Huh... Well... 





Emily KarelTomer Oz (Con) is incredibly excited to be making his debut with KAPOW and work with such a great group of people. Most recently, you could have seen Tomer in Kiss the Moon, Kiss the Sunwith ACT ONE at the West End Studio Theatre in Portsmouth, Darwin's Waiting Room and Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo with VIPA, both at the Player's Ring, also in Portsmouth. Upcoming projects include Christmas Carol (Dec 2-23, 2016) at the Players Ring and Metamorphoses with NHTP(Jan 13 – 29) at West End Studio Theatre. Tomer is also very excited to be producing the play Hurlyburly with Oz Productions (March 10-26, 2017) at the Players Ring, after having directed and produced Lisa Shapter's original play The Other Two Men earlierthis summer.


Matt CahoonMatt Cahoon (Director) is a tKAPOW co-founder and has directed many productions for the company including: Agamemnon, A Dream Play, Buried Child, Time Stands Still and the February 2014 production of Penelope which won three NH Theatre Awards including Best Director. Matt directed Accidental Death of an Anarchist and Israel Potter at the Winnipesaukee Playhouse. He currently serves on the boards of the Arts Presenters of Northern New England and the Greater Derry Arts Council. Matt’s theatre training includes work with Double Edge Theatre Company, SITI Company, the New England Center for Circus Arts, and Range of Motion Arts. In 2013, Matt attended the International Symposium for Directors at LaMaMa Umbria in Spoleto, Italy. As his “day job” Matt serves as the Director of Cultural Programming at Pinkerton Academy. In 2011, Matt was named to the New Hampshire Union Leader’s “40 Under Forty” program.  

Tayva Young (Lighting Designer) discovered the joy of bringing stories to life with light more than 20 years ago. After pursuing this joy across the country she finally landed back on the East Coast, then took a hiatus from theatre and began to raise a family. It is here that she met a wonderfully talented theatric family and began to join them in the art of storytelling on stage. Now in her 5th season with tKAPOW, she is excited to be working alongside them once again as they bring to life stories of humanity. Tayva won the 2015 NH Theatre Award for Best Lighting Design for her work on tKAPOW’s Time Stands Still.
