They’re staring right at us, gawking,
and I don’t like the look of those peckers.

The best comedy has always been politics. Two ordinary men strike out from the city to get away from choking law courts, corrupt politicians, endless war – is it Washington today or Athens in 414 BCE?   Our heroes conspire to persuade the Birds to join them in the creation of a new city and "Cloudcuckooland" is born.   The Birds by AristophanesWill their new utopian society work, or is it just ‘for the birds’?  The question of how to build and then maintain a Utopian political society is as relevant today as 2,500 years ago.

Aerial silks, vaudevillian jesters and a goddess on roller skates: the result is a truly original production with live music, breath-taking visuals, and timeless humor that coalesce into an evening of great theatre.
