Yes, well I know that. Everyone knows that. It’s simply a matter of reminding me when the time comes.

Ionesco’s darkly hilarious play makes fun of all the things that tragedy usually takes seriously.

For 400 years King Berenger conquered his enemies, building a vast kingdom with millions of subjects. He even controlled the weather. But Father Time catches up with everyone. Now his kingdom is crumbling, his vast armies have gone, all that is left is less than a thousand elderly subjects. Even the palace washing machine has been pawned. Now his Royal Highness must bow to Father Time, but he is having none of it in this hilariously dark and witty comedy.

Carey Cahoon (Marguerite) was last seen with tKAPOW in Stupid Fucking Bird. She appeared last year in Macbeth, for which she won the 2014 NH Theatre Award for Best Actress. Other favorite roles include Sarah Goodwin in Time Stands Still, Cassandra in Agamemnon, Julie in Miss Julie, Hedda Tesman in Hedda Gabler, Jessie in ‘night, Mother, and the Pilot in Grounded. Carey has also performed and directed with Boston Playwright’s Platform, Stage One Productions, the Palace Theatre, and the Anselmian Abbey Players. She holds a BA in Classics from St. Anselm College, and trained at the Atlantic Acting School, Shakespeare and Company., and with SITI Company. careycahoon.com

Rich Hurley (Doctor) is honored to be back working with TKapow again and is so happy he has been given the opportunity to share the stage with a great cast and a wonderful director. Rich studied improvisation at the Improv Olympic in Chicago and was a regular performer at the Improv Olympic theater. His recent roles include performances in Stones in his Pockets as Charlie (tKAPOW), The Boys Next Door as Arnold (Bedford Off Broadway), The Glass Menagerie as Jim (Bedford Off Broadway), Laughter on the 23rd Floor as Max (NTG), Agamemnon as Chorus and Aigisthos (tKAPOW), Black Comedy as Brindsley Miller (tKAPOW), Titus Andronicus as Lucius (Ghostlight ), ART as Yvan (MAP),The Crucible as John Proctor (AWNTW), The Tempest as Stephano (NTG), Moonlight and Magnolias as Victor Fleming (Bedford Off Broadway), and Doubt as Father Flynn (AWNTW), Rich would like to thank his family Lotus and Audrey for allowing him the time to go and play with his theater family. Peter Josephson (King Berenger) was last seen with theatre KAPOW as Sorn in Stupid Fucking Bird and as in Raining Aluminum. He has performed with the New Hampshire Theatre Project, the Winnipesaukee Playhouse, and Seven Stages Shakespeare, and has appeared in numerous productions with tKAPOW, including Hedda Gabler, Agamemnon, A Dream Play, Macbeth, and Zoo Story. Peter is a Seacoast Spotlight Award nominee and a nine-time New Hampshire Theatre Award nominee, and won that award for his performance in theatre KAPOW’s production of Penelope. He trains with the Michael Chekhov Association and theatre KAPOW.

Paige Lussier Johnson (Juliette) is originally from Connecticut. She received her BA from Keene State College in Theater and moved to New York City in 2002. While in NY Paige “pounded the pavement” and auditioned tirelessly while studying and taking many, many acting classes and performing improv and sketch comedy. Some of her favorite New York roles include a spot in a comedy central commercial, Ismene in Antigone, Puck in Midsummer Nights Dream, Perdita in A Winter’s Tale, and some very cool and random avant garde downtown NYC off-the-grid theater happenings. Her life and art in NYC is full of stories and was totally worth it. Paige moved back to New Hampshire in 2012 and lives with her amazing husband (whom she met at KSC), and her beautiful children. Paige’s most recent acting credits include Dorine in Tartuffe with Branch River Theater (2016), and Dora Strang in an award winning production of Equus at Keene State College (2014).

Emily Karel (Queen Marie) was last seen with tKAPOW as Nina in Stupid Fucking Bird. She holds a BA in Theatre from Wheaton College, MA. She has studied acting for theatre, TV, and film in New York and Los Angles, and is a graduate of Shakespeare & Company’s Winter Intensive and Conservatory programs. Emily also teaches youth theatre with The New Hampshire Theatre Project in Portsmouth, and will be producing her very first project with her production company Glass Dove Productions in the fall of 2017. Favorite rolls include Jean in Dead Man’s Cell Phone, Abigail in The Crucible, Rose in The Flick, Carol in Oleanna, and Juliet in Romeo and Juliet.

Jimmy Stewart (Guard) is overjoyed to be able to perform in his first production with Theatre Kapow, and feels genuinely lucky to be able to create and play with such inspiring and intelligent artists. When Jimmy is not working his day-job as an engineer (IE: multi-year character study on the pharma industry, look forward to the movie coming in 2020 with Daniel Day Lewis) he is trying to stay sane by performing theatre throughout the great state of New Hampshire.

Matt Cahoon (Director) is a tKAPOW co-founder and has directed many productions for the company including: Agamemnon, A Dream Play, Buried Child, Time Stands Still and the February 2014 production of Penelope which won three NH Theatre Awards including Best Director. Matt directed Accidental Death of an Anarchist and Israel Potter at the Winnipesaukee Playhouse. He currently serves on the boards of the Arts Presenters of Northern New England and the Greater Derry Arts Council. Matt’s theatre training includes work with Double Edge Theatre Company, SITI Company, the New England Center for Circus Arts, and Range of Motion Arts. In 2013, Matt attended the International Symposium for Directors at LaMaMa Umbria in Spoleto, Italy. As his “day job” Matt serves as the Director of Cultural Programming at Pinkerton Academy. In 2011, Matt was named to the New Hampshire Union Leader’s “40 Under Forty” program.

Tayva Young (Lighting Designer) discovered the joy of bringing stories to life with light more than 20 years ago. After pursuing this joy across the country she finally landed back on the East Coast, then took a hiatus from theatre and began to raise a family. It is here that she met a wonderfully talented theatric family and began to join them in the art of storytelling on stage. Now in her 5th season with tKAPOW, she is excited to be working alongside them once again as they bring to life stories of humanity. Tayva won the 2015 NH Theatre Award for Best Lighting Design for her work on tKAPOW’s Time Stands Still.
