Season 18: REVERBERATE

The reverberation often exceeds through silence the sound that sets it off; the reaction occasionally outdoes by way of repose the event that stimulated it; and the past not uncommonly takes a while to happen, and some long time to figure out.” -Ken Kesey

Season 18 - Reverberate

In season 18, tKAPOW has selected a series of shows that will reverberate with audiences but also that speak directly to how history has a way of reverberating into the present. As Kesey puts it, “the past not uncommonly takes a while to happen” and the characters in this season’s shows all grapple with decisions long since made that continue to have impact on their lives and relationships. We, as a company, continue to be keenly aware of the ripple effect of decisions in our society that fundamentally change not only how we produce our work but how our work can influence others. We are excited to start new conversations. We are excited to learn from the past and impact the future. And, most of all, we are excited to partner with our audiences to share in the communal experience of live theatre.

I look forward to seeing you at a show this season,

Matt Cahoon

You’re going to speak more than 123 million words in your lifetime.
But what will you do when they run out?

In a world where spoken language is restricted to a set number of words, the choices we make about what we say – and don’t say – take on profound meaning. Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons follows Oliver and Bernadette, two people grappling with the limits of communication and the impact it has on their relationship. Hilarious yet poignant, the play explores what happens when we can no longer speak freely and how humans continue to communicate through actions, body language, and the spaces between words.

Running Time: 90 minutes, no intermission.

ASL interpretation at Sunday, 9/21 2:00 performance

One woman. Her mother. Her daughter. A portrait of an entire life in the changing light.

In Greenwich Village a generation or so ago, the city is alive. Joni Mitchell sings, friends and lovers come and go, and the regulars change at the White Horse Tavern. As 50 years pass, one woman’s life is revealed in all its complexity, mystery and possibility in this play about mothers and daughters, beginnings and endings in New York City. As it picks apart evolving ideas of identity, family, memory, and more, Morning Sun reminds us that the interruptions in our lives are the ghosts we carry with us. Beautifully crafted and deeply moving, this NH premiere is a poignant exploration of the human experience.

Running Time: 100 minutes
