The best comedy has always been politics. Two ordinary men strike out from the city to get away from choking law courts, corrupt politicians, endless war – is it Washington today or Athens in 414 BCE?   Our heroes conspire to persuade the Birds to join them in the creation of a new city and “Cloudcuckooland” is born.   Will their new utopian society work, or is it just ‘for the birds’?  The question of how to build and then maintain a Utopian political society is as relevant today as 2,500 years ago.
