theatre KAPOW is seeking one female-presenting actor (age 25-35) to complete the cast for an evening of Edgar Allan Poe poems and short stories to be presented on Friday evening, October 23 at GNOMIES in Concord, NH.
The performance will be presented along with an exquisite 5-course dinner, and will feature four poems by Edgar Allan Poe (Alone, Ulalume, Annabel Lee, and The Raven) as well as as adaptations of The Tell-Tale Heart, The Cask of Amontillado, and The Masque of the Red Death. The script features four actors.
Auditions: Video submissions : For your audition, please prepare TWO selections from Edgar Allan Poe:
- a two stanza (12 – 16 line) reading of your choice from either the poem Annabel Lee OR Ulalume
- a one minute selection of your choice from The Tell-Tale Heart.
Please provide a link to Youtube or other video service – set video settings to “Public” or “Unlisted” so we may view it.
Rehearsals: Rehearsals will begin around October 1, 2026 and will be held at the tKAPOW Studio in Manchester, NH. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be created once the show is cast.
Performance: Friday, October 23, at 6 pm at GNOMIES in Concord, NH.
Role available for one non-union actress, featured in The Tell-Tale Heart. Age range 25 – 35.
- All four actors appear in each poem and story, approximately 50 minutes of performance time spread across the 2-hour evening
Stipend: $200
Audition requirements: submissions will be accepted until August 27 or until the role is filled.
